BRED TO PERFORM

DATA-DRIVEN GENETICS FOR PROFITABLE, FUNCTIONAL CATTLE

High indexes and a good balanced line of EBVs across the page are important when we select sires for the Moogenilla herd. We believe in the science; it is well proven and accurate in the Angus breed and we spend a lot of time collecting and contributing weights and muscle/fat scans to the Angus database. A high index bull will be more profitable for you when you sell steers and he will improve your female herd. We also work hard to obtain good information on the docility and structure of the bulls, because first and foremost – the bulls must be functional and breed functional replacement females. The available information is less accurate than weights, fats and muscles which are easily measured, but improving every year.
